Vipula’s Guru-Obedience, Divine Flowers, and the Peril of Others’ Oaths
As a chapter-ending colophon, the verse primarily marks closure: it frames the preceding instruction as part of the Mahābhārata’s Anuśāsana Parva, specifically within the Dāna-dharma section, emphasizing that the ethical focus is righteous giving and conduct taught through dialogue.
Bhīṣma signals that the thirty-eighth chapter—centered on the conversation between Pañcacūḍā and the sage Nārada within the Dāna-dharma portion of the Anuśāsana Parva—has concluded.
