तथा ब्रूहि महाभाग कुरूणां वंशवर्धन । यदि शक्या कुरुश्रेष्ठ रक्षा तासां कदाचन ।।

Transliteration

tathā brūhi mahābhāga kurūṇāṁ vaṁśavardhana | yadi śakyā kuruśreṣṭha rakṣā tāsāṁ kadācana || kartuṁ vā kṛtapūrvā vā tan me vyākhyātum arhasi ||

Translation

Ainsi donc, ô illustre—toi qui fais croître la lignée des Kuru—dis-le-moi : si, à quelque moment que ce soit, la protection de ces femmes est possible, ô le meilleur des Kuru, expose-m’en le moyen. Et si une telle protection a déjà été accomplie jadis, alors raconte-m’en aussi le précédent en détail.
