Pūjya-namaskārya-prakaraṇa

On Those Worthy of Honor and Salutation

त्वां तु शोचामि यो लब्ध्वा ब्राह्माण्यं न बुभूषसे । मतंगने कहा--देवराज! मैं तो यों ही दुःखसे आतुर हो रहा हूँ

tvāṃ tu śocāmi yo labdhvā brāhmaṇyaṃ na bubhūṣase |

Matanga dit : « Je te plains : car, ayant obtenu l’état et la dignité du brahmanat, tu ne veux pas les soutenir. C’est pour toi que je me lamente : tu possèdes de naissance ce qui devrait être embrassé par la conduite, et pourtant tu refuses d’en faire ton bien. »
