Mataṅga–Śakra Dialogue on Tapas, Status, and Moral Qualities
Even those possessing spiritual powers observe dharma through humility and proper conduct: they take leave respectfully (anumati) from revered elders and rightful recipients of instruction, showing that power is subordinate to ethical decorum.
After the exchange around Bhīṣma and the Pāṇḍavas, the gathered great sages formally take permission and then disappear from sight in front of everyone, marking a transition in the episode.
