Brāhmaṇya-प्रश्नः — The Inquiry into Attaining Brāhmaṇya
Mataṅga–Gardabhī Itihāsa
वैवस्वतस्य सदनं न स गच्छेत् कदाचन । यस्य कन्याह्दे वासो देवलोक॑ स गच्छति
vaivasvatasya sadanaṃ na sa gacchet kadācana | yasya kanyāhrade vāso devalokaṃ sa gacchati ||
Celui qui demeure au Kanyā-hrada sacré (le lac de la jeune fille) n’a jamais à se rendre à la demeure de Vaivasvata (Yama). Après la mort, il atteint le monde des dieux. Le passage loue le pèlerinage discipliné et la résidence en lieu saint comme moyen dharmique de purifier sa fin et d’assurer un destin posthume favorable.
