Aṣṭāvakra’s Visit to Kubera: Hospitality, Temptation, and the Ethics of Restraint (अष्टावक्र-वैश्रवणोपाख्यानम्)
पराशर उवाच प्रसाद्येह पुरा शर्व मनसाचिन्तयं नृप । महातपा महातेजा महायोगी महायशा:
parāśara uvāca | prasādyeha purā śarvaṁ manasā cintayaṁ nṛpa | mahātapā mahātejā mahāyogī mahāyaśāḥ |
Parāśara dit : «Ô roi, jadis, en ce lieu même, après avoir apaisé Śarva (Śiva), je commençai à le contempler au-dedans de mon esprit. Par cette austérité et cette dévotion intérieure, je sollicitai la grâce du Seigneur : qu’il me fût accordé un fils selon le vœu de mon cœur, doté d’une grande puissance ascétique, d’un grand rayonnement spirituel, de la maîtrise du yoga et d’une renommée durable.»
