Chapter 2: Sudarśana Upākhyāna — Atithi-Dharma and the Conquest of Mṛtyu
Gṛhastha-Vrata
आतिदथ्यं कृतमिच्छामि त्वयाद्य वरवर्णिनि । प्रमाणं यदि धर्मस्ते गृहस्थाभ्रमसम्मत:
ātithyaṁ kṛtam icchāmi tvayādya varavarṇini | pramāṇaṁ yadi dharmas te gṛhasthābhramasammataḥ ||
Bhīṣma dit : «Ô dame au teint clair, d’une beauté accomplie, aujourd’hui je souhaite recevoir l’hospitalité que tu offres. Si, pour toi, la mesure de la juste conduite est ce dharma approuvé par les maîtres de maison et reconnu comme convenable, alors que cet accueil soit tenu pour légitime et digne.»
