Gṛhastha-Vrata
निष्क्रान्ते मयि कल्याणि तथा संनिहिते5नघे । नातिथिस्ते5वमन्तव्य: प्रमाणं यद्यहं तव
niṣkrānte mayi kalyāṇi tathā saṃnihite ’naghe | nātithis te ’vamantavyaḥ pramāṇaṃ yady ahaṃ tava ||
Bhīṣma dit : «Ô femme de bon augure, ô irréprochable : que je sois parti ou encore tout proche, tu ne dois jamais traiter un hôte (atithi) avec mépris. Si tu me prends pour règle de conduite, que ceci soit ta loi : en aucune circonstance l’hôte ne doit être déshonoré.»
