Gṛhastha-Vrata
प्रमाणं यदि वामोरु वचस्ते मम शो भने । इदं वचनमव्यग्रा हृदि त्वं धारये: सदा,“वामोरु शोभने! यदि तुम्हें मेरा वचन मान्य हो तो मेरी इस बातको शान्त भावसे सदा अपने हृदयमें धारण किये रहना
pramāṇaṃ yadi vāmoru vacas te mama śobhane | idaṃ vacanam avyagrā hṛdi tvaṃ dhārayet sadā ||
Bhīṣma dit : «Ô belle aux cuisses gracieuses, si mes paroles font autorité pour toi, conserve toujours cet avis dans ton cœur, l’esprit calme et sans distraction.»
भीष्म उवाच
To accept sound counsel from a trusted authority and to internalize it steadily—keeping it in one’s heart with a calm, undistracted mind—so that it guides conduct in accordance with dharma.
Bhīṣma addresses a woman respectfully and, before giving or continuing his instruction, asks her to treat his words as authoritative; he urges her to remember and preserve his counsel constantly and with mental composure.
