शयाना जाग्रमाणाश्च व्रजन्नुपविशंस्तथा । उन्मिषन् निमिषंश्वैव चिन्तयन्त: पुनः पुन:
śayānā jāgramāṇāś ca vrajann upaviśaṃs tathā | unmiṣan nimiṣaṃś caiva cintayantaḥ punaḥ punaḥ ||
Vāyu dit : Qu’ils soient couchés ou éveillés, marchant ou assis, et jusque dans l’ouverture et la fermeture des yeux, ils le contemplent encore et encore.
वायुदेव उवाच
The core teaching is unbroken mindfulness of the divine: true devotion is not confined to ritual moments but continues through all states—sleeping, waking, moving, resting, and even blinking—so that ordinary life becomes sustained meditation.
Vāyu is describing the conduct of devoted worshippers: he portrays their constant contemplation as they pass through everyday actions, emphasizing the ideal of uninterrupted bhakti and recollection.
