घृतात् सारं यथा मण्डस्तथैतत् सारमुद्धृतम् । जैसे पर्वतका सार सुवर्ण, फ़ूलका सार मधु और घीका सार मण्ड है, उसी प्रकार यह दस हजार नामोंका सार उद्धृत किया गया है
ghṛtāt sāraṃ yathā maṇḍas tathaitat sāram uddhṛtam |
Vāyu-deva dit : «De même que l’essence tirée du ghee en est la crème la plus fine, de même ici l’essentiel a été extrait — voici le cœur distillé.» Par son intention éthique, le vers loue un enseignement réduit à sa force la plus vive, et exhorte l’auditeur à chérir la sagesse concentrée plutôt que l’abondance des mots.
