मदस्यास्यमनुप्राप्ता यदा सेन्द्रा दिवौकस: । तदैव च्यवनेनेह हृता तेषां वसुन्धरा
madasyāsyam anuprāptā yadā sendrā divaukasaḥ | tadaiva cyavaneneha hṛtā teṣāṃ vasundharā ||
Bhishma dit : «Lorsque les dieux, Indra en tête, tombèrent dans la bouche de Mada (Ivresse/Orgueil), c’est alors même que le sage Cyavana leur ôta ici leur souveraineté sur la terre.»
