एवमुक्तस्तदात्रिरवँ तमोनुदभवच्छशी । अपश्यत् सौम्यभावाच्च सोमवत् प्रियदर्शन:
evam uktas tadātrir avaṁ tamonudabhavac chaśī | apaśyat saumyabhāvāc ca somavat priyadarśanaḥ |
Bhīṣma dit : Quand les dieux eurent parlé ainsi, le sage Atri prit aussitôt la forme de la Lune, celle qui chasse les ténèbres. D’un maintien paisible et doux, il apparut agréable à contempler, tel Soma lui-même, et il regarda calmement vers les dieux. Puis, voyant que l’éclat de la Lune et du Soleil faiblissait, Atri—par la puissance de ses austérités—répandit la lumière sur ce champ de bataille, dissipa l’obscurité et illumina le monde entier.
