मुज्च भार्यामुतथ्यस्य कस्मात् त्वं हृतवानसि । “वरुण! तुम मेरे कहनेसे मेरी पत्नीको छोड़ दो। तुमने क्यों उसका अपहरण किया है? तुम लोगोंके लिये लोकपाल बनाये गये हो
muñca bhāryām utathyasya kasmāt tvaṁ hṛtavān asi
Arjuna dit : « Relâche l’épouse d’Utathya. Pourquoi l’as-tu enlevée ? Vous avez été institués gardiens des mondes, non pas destructeurs de l’ordre social. Soma m’a donné sa fille ; elle est mon épouse légitime. Comment donc l’as-tu ravie aujourd’hui ? » Selon les paroles d’Utathya, Nārada porta cette requête à Varuṇa, seigneur des eaux, l’exhortant à rendre la femme et mettant en cause la justice de cet enlèvement.
