दण्डकानां महदू राज्यं ब्राह्मणेन विनाशितम् । तालजंघं महाक्षत्रमौर्वेगेकेन नाशितम्
daṇḍakānāṁ mahad rājyaṁ brāhmaṇena vināśitam | tālajaṅghaṁ mahākṣatram aurvegekena nāśitam ||
Arjuna dit : «Le grand royaume des Daṇḍaka fut détruit par un seul brāhmane ; et la puissante lignée kṣatriya appelée Tālajaṅgha fut anéantie par le sage Aurva, à lui seul.» Cette parole porte un avertissement : ni la puissance ni la naissance ne protègent ceux qui attirent la colère née de l’ascèse et de la juste indignation ; l’adharma peut mener à la ruine, fût-ce par l’action d’un seul être d’une force spirituelle redoutable.
