द्यौ: सचन्द्रार्कनक्षत्रा खं दिशो भूर्महोदधि: । वासुदेवस्य वीरयेण विधृतानि महात्मन:
dyauḥ sacandrārkanakṣatrā khaṁ diśo bhūr mahodadhiḥ | vāsudevasya vīryeṇa vidhṛtāni mahātmanaḥ ||
Bhīṣma dit : Les cieux—avec la lune, le soleil et les étoiles—ainsi que l’espace, les dix directions, la terre et le grand océan, tout cela est soutenu par la puissance du magnanime Vāsudeva.
भीष्म उवाच
That the universe—heavenly bodies, space, directions, earth, and ocean—depends on the sustaining power of Vāsudeva; recognizing this fosters devotion, humility, and alignment with dharma rather than ego-driven action.
Bhīṣma, instructing on dharma and higher truths in the Anuśāsana Parva, praises Vāsudeva’s supreme potency by describing him as the support of the entire cosmos.
