Rudra-Śiva: Names, Two Natures, and the Logic of Epithets (रुद्रनाम-बहुरूपत्व-प्रकरणम्)
एष पज्चविधो धर्मो बहुशाख: सुखोदय: । देहिभिर्थर्मपरमैक्षर्तव्यो धर्मसम्भव:
eṣa pañcavidho dharmo bahuśākhaḥ sukhodayaḥ | dehibhir dharmaparamaikṣitavyo dharmasambhavaḥ ||
Voici le dharma en cinq formes—aux multiples ramifications, d’où s’élève le bien-être. Ceux qui vivent dans un corps, tenant le dharma pour but suprême, doivent le méditer et le mettre en pratique, car il naît du dharma et ramène au dharma.
श्रीमहेश्वर उवाच
Dharma is presented as a structured (fivefold) yet widely applicable path that generates true well-being; embodied people should keep dharma as their highest priority and actively contemplate and live by it.
Maheśvara (Śiva), speaking as a teacher, summarizes the nature of dharma—its divisions, its many practical branches, and its beneficial fruits—urging listeners to make it the central focus of their conduct.
