Śiva-nāmānukīrtana-prastāvaḥ
Prologue to the praise of Śiva and the Upamanyu testimony
The verse highlights the dharmic value of truthful reassurance delivered with gentleness (sāman). Ethical speech is not merely accurate; it is also compassionate and stabilizing, giving confidence without agitation.
Vāsudeva recounts that the Blessed Lord spoke to him in a very sweet, conciliatory manner and gave a firm assurance: Kṛṣṇa will certainly obtain a son equal to himself.
