Pensant : « C’est assurément le dharma », il se trouve pourtant souillé par l’adharma. Les feux sacrés s’irritent contre lui et, par conséquent, il va vers une naissance de śūdra.
धौग्य उवाच
Mistaking an improper act for dharma does not make it righteous; such error still binds one to adharma, offends the sacred fires, and yields harmful karmic results, described here as rebirth in a Śūdra womb.
Dhaugya is instructing about a ‘confidential’ but blameworthy point concerning sacrificial propriety: when people treat mishandling of ritual elements (especially connected with the sacred fires) as acceptable duty, they incur ritual offense and moral fault, leading to negative consequences.
