मानसतीर्थ-शौचप्रशंसा | Praise of the ‘Mental Tīrtha’ and the Marks of Purity
मारुतौशनसे चैव ब्रह्मलोक॑ स गच्छति । तत्र दैवतकन्याभिरासनेनोपचर्यते
mārutauśanase caiva brahmalokaṃ sa gacchati | tatra daivatakanyābhir āsanenopacaryate ||
Bhīṣma dit : Il atteint les mondes des Maruts et d’Uśanas (Śukra), ainsi que le monde de Brahmā. Là, des jeunes filles célestes l’honorent en lui offrant un siège et en le servant avec respect.
भीष्म उवाच
The passage teaches that disciplined, sustained Vedic observance—especially Agnihotra combined with regulated fasting and pure havis-based diet—yields exalted spiritual merit, culminating in attainment of higher realms and receiving honor befitting one’s dharmic conduct.
In Bhīṣma’s instruction on dharma, he describes the reward for a specific vow-like regimen: the practitioner reaches divine worlds (of the Maruts, Uśanas/Śukra, and Brahmā), where celestial maidens ceremonially honor him by offering a seat and service.
