Praise of the ‘Mental Tīrtha’ and the Marks of Purity
That careful adherence to the prescribed ritual day and proper participation in the oblation yields sustained merit—here described as the year-long fruit equal to a Deva-satra—highlighting dharma as disciplined, rule-governed practice.
Bhīṣma is instructing on ritual and religious duties, stating the specific reward for one who partakes of the sacrificial oblation when the thirteenth day arrives, promising the continuing merit of a major extended sacrifice for twelve months.
