Nahūṣa Episode and the Commendation of Lamp-Gifting and Household Offerings
That dharmic instruction delivered by a venerable authority (the Pitāmaha) carries such moral gravity that it is figuratively presented as being heard under divine witness—reinforcing reverence for righteous counsel and the responsibility to heed it.
Bhīṣma, addressing Arjuna (Pārtha), describes a scene where the Grandsire is in the midst of speaking, and the gods are present as attentive listeners, marking the discourse as momentous and authoritative.
