इस प्रकार श्रीमह्याभारत अनुशासनपर्वके अन्तर्गत दानधर्मपर्वमें छत्रदान और उपानहदानकी प्रशंसानामक छानबेवाँ अध्याय पूरा हुआ
iti prakāraḥ śrīmahābhārate anuśāsanaparvaṇi antargate dānadharmaparvaṇi chatradāna-upānahadāna-praśaṃsā-nāmakaḥ ṣaṇṇavati-tamo 'dhyāyaḥ pūrṇaḥ
Ainsi s’achève le quatre-vingt-seizième chapitre de l’Anuśāsana Parva du Śrī Mahābhārata, dans la section consacrée au dharma du don (Dāna-dharma), intitulé « Éloge du don de l’ombrelle et du don de chaussures ». Sur le plan éthique, ce colophon final rappelle que même les présents simples et utiles—ceux qui protègent et soutiennent autrui dans la vie de tous les jours—sont tenus pour des actes de dharma riches de mérite.
