मृत्युरुवाच या काचिदेव चेष्टा स्यात् सर्वा कालप्रचोदिता । पूर्वमेवैतदुक्त हि मया लुब्धक कालत:
mṛtyur uvāca yā kācid eva ceṣṭā syāt sarvā kālapracoditā | pūrvam evaitad uktaṃ hi mayā lubdhaka kālataḥ ||
La Mort dit : «Toute action, tout mouvement qui se produit en ce monde—tout effort quel qu’il soit—est entièrement poussé par le Temps. Je te l’ai déjà dit auparavant, ô chasseur : c’est le Temps qui entraîne toutes choses.»
