Alors le roi Saṃvaraṇa—accompagné de son épouse, de ses ministres, de son fils et de ses amis bienveillants—s’enfuit de ce lieu, poussé par une peur accablante.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights pragmatic royal responsibility: in extreme peril, safeguarding one’s household and dependents may require withdrawal rather than stubbornly holding ground. It frames flight not as mere cowardice but as a response to a threat so great that preservation becomes the immediate duty.
Vaiśampāyana narrates that King Saṃvaraṇa, together with his wife, son, ministers, and friends, leaves the place and escapes because a great fear has arisen, indicating a sudden crisis forcing the royal party into flight.
