वैशम्पायन उवाच
A person’s place in society is often shaped by samskāras such as naming; public recognition can establish identity and reputation, even when deeper origins remain unknown.
The couple formally names the child Vasuṣeṇa, and the verse notes that he becomes widely renowned—foreshadowing his later prominence in the epic.
