न चापि कृष्णा शक््येत तेभ्यो भेदयितुं पर: । परिद्यूनान् वृतवती किमुताद्य मृजावत:,कृष्णाको भी उनकी ओरसे फूट डालकर विलग करना असम्भव है; क्योंकि जब पाण्डवलोग भिक्षाभोजी होनेके कारण दीन-हीन थे, उस अवस्थामें कृष्णाने उनका वरण किया है; अब तो वे सम्पत्तिशाली होकर स्वच्छ एवं सुन्दर वेषमें रहते हैं, अब वह क्यों उनकी ओरसे विरक्त होगी?
na cāpi kṛṣṇā śakyeta tebhyo bhedayituṃ paraḥ | paridyūnān vṛtavatī kim utādya mṛjāvataḥ ||
Karna dit : «Et nul autre ne peut non plus éloigner Kṛṣṇā d’eux en semant la division. Car elle a choisi les Pāṇḍava même lorsqu’ils étaient tombés au plus bas—vivant d’aumônes et dans l’abaissement ; à plus forte raison maintenant qu’ils sont prospères, propres et richement parés, comment se détournerait-elle d’eux ?»
