न च ते व्यसनैर्योक्तुं शक््या दिष्टकृतेन च । शकिताश्रैप्सवश्चैव पितृपैतामहं पदम्,अब वे संकटमें नहीं डाले जा सकते। भाग्यने उन्हें शक्तिशाली बना दिया है और उनमें अपने बाप-दादोंके राज्यको प्राप्त करनेकी अभिलाषा जाग उठी है
na ca te vyasanair yoktuṁ śakyā diṣṭakṛtena ca | śakitāś ca ipsavaś caiva pitṛpaitāmahaṁ padam ||
Karna dit : «On ne peut pas davantage les contenir par les calamités, ni même par ce que le destin a décrété. Ils sont devenus capables et résolus, et en eux s’est éveillé le désir d’obtenir la souveraineté paternelle et ancestrale.»
