Samantapañcaka Narrative and the Measure of an Akṣauhiṇī
The verse foregrounds dharmic compassion: when someone is overwhelmed by grief, it is righteous to offer reassurance and moral support, sustaining hope and steadiness rather than abandoning the afflicted to despair.
Draupadī (Pāñcālī) laments intensely in Kṛṣṇa’s presence, and Kṛṣṇa responds by consoling her; the line notes that this episode is recounted elsewhere (traditionally associated with the Vanaparvan narrative context).
