अध्याय १८४ — भैक्षविभागः, शयनविधानम्, धृष्टद्युम्नस्य निवेदनम्
Alms Distribution, Night Lodging, and Dhṛṣṭadyumna’s Report
निःशब्दे तु कृते तस्मिन् धृष्टद्युम्नो विशाम्पते । कृष्णामादाय विधिवन्मेघदुन्दुभिनि:स्वन:,महाराज! बाजोंकी आवाज बंद हो जानेपर जब स्वयंवरसभामें सन्नाटा छा गया, तब विधिके अनुसार धृष्टद्युम्न द्रौयदीको (साथ) लेकर रंगमण्डपके बीचमें खड़ा हो मेघ और दुन्दुभिके समान स्वर तथा मेघ-गर्जनकी-सी गम्भीर वाणीमें यह अर्थयुक्त उत्तम एवं मधुर वचन बोला--
niḥśabde tu kṛte tasmin dhṛṣṭadyumno viśāmpate | kṛṣṇām ādāya vidhivan meghadundubhiniḥsvanaḥ ||
Quand le silence se fut abattu sur cette assemblée, ô seigneur des peuples, Dhṛṣṭadyumna—ayant pris Kṛṣṇā (Draupadī) selon le rite prescrit—se tint au milieu de l’arène. D’une voix grave et retentissante, pareille au tonnerre des nuées et au fracas des tambours, il prononça des paroles pleines de sens, excellentes et suaves—marquant que la suite des événements se ferait désormais sous le dharma et la juste formalité, non comme un simple spectacle.
