तौ ते ददृशुरासक्तौ विकर्षन्तौ परस्परम् | काड्क्षमाणौ जयं चैव सिंहाविव बलोत्कटौ,तदनन्तर उन्होंने देखा कि वे दोनों प्रचण्ड बलशाली सिंहोंकी भाँति आपसमें गुथ गये हैं और अपनी-अपनी विजय चाहते हुए एक-दूसरेको घसीट रहे हैं

tau te dadṛśur āsaktau vikarṣantau parasparam |
kāṅkṣamāṇau jayaṃ caiva siṃhāv iva balotkaṭau ||
