वैशम्पायनजी कहते हैं--जनमेजय! उधर रात व्यतीत होनेपर वारणावत नगरके सारे नागरिक बड़ी उतावलीके साथ पाण्डुकुमारोंकी दशा देखनेके लिये उस लाक्षागृहके समीप आये

Transliteration

Vaiśampāyana uvāca—Janamejaya! tataḥ rātryāṃ vyatītāyāṃ Vāraṇāvata-nagarasya sarve nāgarāḥ mahāutkaṇṭhyena Pāṇḍu-kumārāṇāṃ daśāṃ draṣṭuṃ tasya lākṣāgṛhasya samīpam ājagmuḥ.

Translation

Vaiśampāyana dit : « Ô Janamejaya, lorsque la nuit fut passée, tous les habitants de Vāraṇāvata, saisis d’une hâte inquiète, s’approchèrent de cette maison de laque pour voir ce qu’étaient devenus les fils de Pāṇḍu. »
