दृष्ट्वा न जायते मर्त्यः संसारे दुःखसागरे सूत उवाच एवम् उक्त्वा महादेवो दिशः सर्वा व्यलोकयत्
dṛṣṭvā na jāyate martyaḥ saṃsāre duḥkhasāgare sūta uvāca evam uktvā mahādevo diśaḥ sarvā vyalokayat
Ayant contemplé cette vérité, le mortel ne renaît plus dans le saṃsāra, océan de souffrance. Sūta dit : après avoir parlé ainsi, Mahādeva parcourut du regard toutes les directions.

Shiva appears as Mahādeva, the sovereign Pati whose utterance and presence orient the cosmos (“surveying the directions”) and whose revealed truth, when realized, ends rebirth for the bound soul.
