Les hommes de bien louent comme fils véritable celui qui accomplit les paroles de sa mère et de son père. En vérité, seul est « fils » celui qui se comporte envers ses parents avec la dévotion, le soin et le devoir qui conviennent à un fils.
Suta Goswami
It establishes that the foundation for effective Shiva-puja is dharmic conduct—especially honoring and obeying one’s parents—so the pashu (individual soul) becomes fit for Pati’s (Shiva’s) grace.
By implication, Shiva-tattva is accessed through purity of conduct: when the pashu reduces pasha through truthful duty and seva, the path opens for Shiva’s anugraha (liberating favor).
No specific rite is named; it highlights the preparatory discipline (niyama) of pitṛ-mātṛ-sevā, which supports Pashupata-oriented sadhana and steadies the mind for worship.
