Jyotish-chakra: Surya’s Motion and Monthly Retinues
वसन्त्येते तु वै सूर्ये मास ऊर्ज इषे च ह हैमन्तिकौ तु द्वौ मासौ वसन्ति च दिवाकरे
vasantyete tu vai sūrye māsa ūrja iṣe ca ha haimantikau tu dvau māsau vasanti ca divākare
Ces mois, en vérité, demeurent dans le Soleil : Ūrja et Iṣa. De même, les deux mois d’hiver résident dans le Faiseur du Jour (le Soleil). Par la course ordonnée du Soleil, le temps et les saisons sont maintenus, révélant Pati, le Seigneur, comme le régulateur intérieur de l’ordre mesuré du cosmos.

It frames time (months and seasons) as a regulated cosmic power; in Linga worship, this supports performing vrata, pūjā, and dāna in harmony with sacred time—seeing Shiva (Pati) as the unseen ruler who orders the solar cycle.
Though Surya is named, the Purāṇic Shaiva reading treats such cosmic regulators as instruments of the Supreme Pati; Shiva-tattva is the inner niyantṛ (governor) by whom kāla functions and by whose grace the paśu can transcend temporal limitation.
Seasonal observance—timely vrata and pūjā aligned to solar months; yogically, it implies disciplining the paśu through niyama and kāla-awareness, turning attention from changing seasons to the changeless Pati.
