Jyotish-chakra: Surya’s Motion and Monthly Retinues
Suta Goswami
It shows that Shiva is worshipped not only by mantra and offerings but also through disciplined, ordered upāsanā expressed as sacred tāṇḍava—devotion performed according to hierarchy and dharma.
Shiva is presented as Pati—the supreme Lord worthy of reverence from all classes of divine attendants—indicating His transcendence and sovereign magnetism that draws ordered worship from the cosmos.
A mode of bhakti-upāsanā where rhythm, movement, and disciplined sequence (yathākramam) become an offering—compatible with Pāśupata intent: turning body and action into worship of Pati to loosen pāśa (bondage) upon the paśu (soul).
