FAQs

It does not directly define Ātman; it emphasizes dhārmic humility—honoring realized sages like Vyāsa—an outward marker of inner discipline that supports Self-knowledge in the Purāṇic path.

No specific āsana or meditation is named; the practice implied is sevā and pūjā of a revered teacher-sage, a foundational discipline that purifies the mind and prepares one for yoga and jñāna taught elsewhere in the Kurma Purana.

This verse is neutral on Shiva–Vishnu theology; it supports the Kurma Purana’s broader synthesis indirectly by foregrounding reverence to the rishi-tradition (Vyāsa) through which both Shaiva and Vaishnava teachings are transmitted.
