Parīkṣit’s Inquiry into Vṛtrāsura’s Bhakti and the Beginning of Citraketu’s Trial
आसीद्राजा सार्वभौम: शूरसेनेषु वै नृप । चित्रकेतुरिति ख्यातो यस्यासीत्कामधुङ्मही ॥ १० ॥
āsīd rājā sārvabhaumaḥ śūraseneṣu vai nṛpa citraketur iti khyāto yasyāsīt kāmadhuṅ mahī
Ô roi Parīkṣit, dans la contrée de Śūrasena régnait un souverain nommé Citraketu, maître de toute la terre. Sous son règne, la terre, telle Kāmadhenu, donnait tout ce qui est nécessaire à la vie.
Here the most significant statement is that the earth completely produced all the necessities of life during the time of King Citraketu. As stated in the Īśopaniṣad :
