This verse states that bathing in a sacred tīrtha can immediately remove sinful reactions and restore lost auspiciousness—illustrated by the Moon-god being freed from the effects of Dakṣa’s curse.
Śukadeva cites Candra’s deliverance to demonstrate the extraordinary purifying potency of that particular sacred place, where even a divine being afflicted by a curse regained his waxing radiance.
Seek purification through sincere devotional practices—such as tīrtha-yātrā with faith, remembrance of the Lord, and humble repentance—using sacred acts to renew one’s spiritual clarity and discipline.
