Purūravā’s Song of Renunciation and the Glory of Sādhu-saṅga
This verse describes devotees as desireless for personal gain, fully absorbed in Krishna, peaceful, equal-seeing, free from possessiveness and false ego, beyond dualities, and not inclined to accumulate.
Krishna is instructing Uddhava on the inner character of genuine saintliness—showing that bhakti is expressed through purified consciousness: calmness, humility, non-possessiveness, and steady absorption in the Lord.
Practice steady remembrance of Krishna, reduce ego-driven reactions to praise and blame, simplify needs, and cultivate equal respect toward others—so success and failure do not disturb the mind.
