Purūravā’s Song of Renunciation and the Glory of Sādhu-saṅga
This verse teaches that when the mind is overpowered by sensual attraction, only Bhagavān Adhokṣaja—Lord beyond material perception—has the true power to release and purify it.
Because the mind, once seized by strong material desire, cannot be fully conquered by ordinary effort alone; the Supreme Lord, who rules even the self-satisfied sages, can withdraw one from illusion through His grace and devotion.
Recognize the limits of willpower when desire overwhelms, and actively take shelter of bhakti—hearing, chanting, and remembering the Lord—to regain clarity, self-control, and inner freedom.
