Parīkṣit’s Final Instruction
न तत्रात्मा स्वयंज्योतिर्यो व्यक्ताव्यक्तयो: पर: । आकाश इव चाधारो ध्रुवोऽनन्तोपमस्तत: ॥ ८ ॥
na tatrātmā svayaṁ-jyotir yo vyaktāvyaktayoḥ paraḥ ākāśa iva cādhāro dhruvo ’nantopamas tataḥ
L’âme est lumineuse par elle-même et se tient au-delà du corps grossier visible et du corps subtil invisible. Elle demeure le support immuable de l’existence corporelle changeante, comme le ciel éthéré est l’arrière-plan fixe des transformations; ainsi l’âme est sans fin et sans comparaison matérielle.
