Sudāmā Brāhmaṇa Receives Kṛṣṇa’s Mercy
The Gift of Flat Rice

This verse states that the real cause of prosperity—here or hereafter—is simply pleasing the Supreme Lord (Śrī Kṛṣṇa), the Soul of the universe.
Sudāmā, overwhelmed by Kṛṣṇa’s mercy and hospitality, expresses the Bhagavata conclusion that material or spiritual success is rooted in the Lord’s satisfaction, not in worldly resources.
Make your priorities devotional—serve with sincerity, cultivate humility and gratitude, and align daily actions with dharma and bhakti—seeing the Lord’s pleasure as the true measure of success.
