Akrūra’s Prayers (Akrūra-stuti): The Lord as Cause of Causes, Virāṭ, and the Goal of All Paths

Mon intelligence est si pauvre que je ne trouve pas la force de maîtriser mon mental, troublé par les désirs et les actes matériels, et sans cesse entraîné çà et là par mes sens obstinés.
This verse admits that the mind, wounded by lust and habit, is hard to restrain when the senses drag it outward; it implies the need for higher spiritual shelter—devotional dependence on Krishna—rather than mere willpower.
While offering prayers to Sri Krishna, Uddhava expresses humility and the human struggle with desire, showing that even exalted devotees seek Krishna’s grace to master the senses.
Recognize sense-driven distraction as a real force, reduce triggers, and anchor the mind daily through bhakti practices—hearing Krishna-katha, japa, and prayerful dependence—so the senses no longer dictate direction.
