Kāliya-damana: Kṛṣṇa Subdues the Serpent and Purifies the Yamunā

तं प्रेक्षणीयसुकुमारघनावदातं श्रीवत्सपीतवसनं स्मितसुन्दरास्यम् । क्रीडन्तमप्रतिभयं कमलोदराङ्‍‍‍‍‍घ्रि सन्दश्य मर्मसु रुषा भुजया चछाद ॥ ९ ॥

Transliteration

taṁ prekṣaṇīya-sukumāra-ghanāvadātaṁ śrīvatsa-pīta-vasanaṁ smita-sundarāsyam krīḍantam apratibhayaṁ kamalodarāṅghriṁ sandaśya marmasu ruṣā bhujayā cachāda

Translation

Kāliya vit Śrī Kṛṣṇa, vêtu de soie jaune, si délicat et digne d’être contemplé; Son corps charmant brillait comme un nuage blanc lumineux, Sa poitrine portait la marque de Śrīvatsa, Son visage souriait avec beauté, et Ses pieds ressemblaient au tourbillon d’un lotus. Il jouait sans crainte dans l’eau. Pourtant, Kāliya, rongé d’envie, le mordit avec fureur à la poitrine puis l’enserra entièrement de ses anneaux.
