अहो उभयत: प्राप्तं लोकस्य व्यसनं महत् । दारुण्युभयतो दीप्ते इव तस्करपालयो: ॥ ८ ॥

Transliteration

aho ubhayataḥ prāptaṁ lokasya vyasanaṁ mahat dāruṇy ubhayato dīpte iva taskara-pālayoḥ

Translation

Hélas ! Le peuple est pris dans un grand péril des deux côtés, comme des fourmis au milieu d’une bûche enflammée aux deux extrémités. D’un côté un roi irresponsable, de l’autre des voleurs et brigands.
