Sukta 31
पुष्टिं पशूनां परि जग्रभाहं चतुष्पदां द्विपदां यच्च धान्यम्। पयः पशूनां रसमोषधीनां बृहस्पतिः सविता मे नि यच्छात्
púṣṭiṃ paśūnā́ṃ pári jagrabhā́haṃ catúṣpadāṃ dvipádāṃ yác ca dhā́nyam | páyaḥ paśūnā́ṃ rásam óṣadhīnāṃ bṛ́haspátiḥ savitā́ me ní yacchāt ||
The increase of cattle have I wholly seized—of four-footed, of two-footed, and whatever grain there is. The milk of cattle, the sap of herbs—may Bṛhaspati and Savitṛ secure it fast for me.
J’ai saisi tout entier l’accroissement du bétail—des quadrupèdes, des bipèdes, et tout le grain qu’il y a. Le lait du bétail, la sève (rasa) des plantes médicinales (oṣadhī)—que Bṛhaspati et Savitṛ me l’assurent fermement.
