Sukta 3
वर्चसा मां पितरः सोम्यासो अञ्जन्तु देवा मधुना घृतेन । चक्षुषे मा प्रतरं तारयन्तो जरसे मा जरदष्टिं वर्धन्तु
várcasā māṃ pitáraḥ somyā́so áñjantu devā́ mádhunā ghṛténa | cákṣuṣe mā prataráṃ tāráyanto járase mā jaradáṣṭiṃ vardhantu ||
With lustre let the Soma-blest Fathers anoint me; let the Gods anoint with honey and with ghee. Ferrying me safely over to clearer seeing, let them increase for me old age, yea, the firm strength of age.
Que les Pères, bénis par Soma, m’oignent de splendeur ; que les dieux m’oignent de miel et de ghee. Me faisant passer sain et sauf vers une vision plus claire, qu’ils accroissent pour moi la vieillesse — oui, la force ferme de l’âge.
