Sukta 4
उतैनां भेदो नाददाद् वशामिन्द्रेण याचितः । तस्मात् तं देवा आगसोऽवृश्चन्नहमुत्तरे
utá enā́ṃ bhedó ná adadād vaśā́m índreṇa yācitáḥ | tasmā́t táṃ devā́ ā́gaso ’vṛścann ahám uttaré ||
Moreover, Bheda gave her not—the barren cow—though Indra himself had made request. Therefore the Gods, for his offense, cut him off; and I (declare it) in the after-time.
Et pourtant Bheda ne la donna pas — la vache stérile —, bien qu’Indra lui-même l’eût demandée. C’est pourquoi les Dieux, pour sa faute, le retranchèrent ; et moi, je le proclame pour le temps à venir.
