कोशमूलो हि दुर्गसंस्कारो दुर्गरक्षणं जनपदमित्रामित्रनिग्रहो देशान्तरितानामुत्साहनं दण्डबलव्यवहारश्च ॥ कZ_०८.१.३४ ॥

Transliteration

kośamūlo hi durgasaṃskāro durgarakṣaṇaṃ janapadamitrāmitranigraho deśāntaritānāmutsāhanaṃ daṇḍabalavyavahāraśca

Translation

Car le trésor est la racine de : la construction et l’approvisionnement des forteresses, la garde des forteresses, le contrôle de la campagne, la contrainte des amis et des ennemis, l’entretien de ceux qui sont postés loin de chez eux, et l’emploi pratique de la force coercitive (armée/châtiment).
